The Lighter Side of Research: PhD research through humour

  • Burdall's Yard Anglo Terrace Bath, England, BA1 5NH United Kingdom (map)

Join us for an evening of academic insight and humour as PhD researchers from the University of Bath take the stage to share their research with a twist—through wit, humour, and their unique personalities. After working with an experienced comedy writer and speaking coach, Chris Head, each researcher will have up to 6 minutes and just a microphone to break down complex ideas, making them accessible and entertaining. It's science, it’s scholarship, and it’s fun—proof that you can be both brilliant and funny at the same time! This event is part of the Doctoral College’s Festival of Ideas and wider ‘Research Culture Month’, a chance to recognise the incredible contribution of young researchers – so come and join as these talented researchers bring their work to life in ways you've never seen before. Don’t miss out on a night of knowledge, laughter, and a fresh perspective on the world of academia
