Thirty years in a hire car: Jeremy Whittle's True Tales of the Tour de France

  • Burdall's Yard Anglo Terrace Bath, England, BA1 5NH United Kingdom (map)

The Guardian's Tour de France correspondent Jeremy Whittle joins us for a night of illuminating and entertaining cycling conversation.

Jeremy has reported on all of the major stories in world cycling over the last 30 years and had close-to dealings with all the sport's big names, from Lance Armstrong to Tadej Pogacar via Bradley Wiggins. Jeremy was one of the founders of Procycling magazine and, alongside his acclaimed, often hard-hitting books, has been a mainstay of BBC Five Live's Bespoke podcast.

Becoming a cycling journalist in the 1990s, Jeremy soon found himself in the middle of one of the sport's most controversial eras, and having to question the balance between his love of the sport and his duties as a serious journalist. At Burdall's Yard, he will be telling the stories behind the stories and passing on some of his front-row observations that did not make it to print.

Jeremy Whittle will be in conversation with Duncan Steer, regular host of the Bath Cycling Nights series.
